Benjamin Obdyke
When we were asked to help Benjamin Obdyke with a quick 150th-anniversary ad, we couldāve thrown together a simple āthank you to our customers.ā We couldāve stuck to the brief. We couldāve ignored a note we were never supposed to find: āBen had a dry sense of humor.ā We couldāve.
But then it rained. And I had an idea.
Ben came back from the dead to thank the real reason his company was still in business: the rain. For historical accuracy, we brought this long-form ad to life using a real typewriter from the 1800s.
The client doubled their media budget to get more life out of the ad and asked us to adapt the concept across other marketing assets.
Here are a few samples.
